Filed statements, standardised. Public and private, one schema.

Every figure comes from a statement the company itself submitted — to a government registry, or to its exchange and regulator. One taxonomy makes them all directly comparable.

01

Private company financials

Annual accounts filed with national registries — full and abridged formats — covering profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow where filed. Sourced from Companies House, the Handelsregister, INPI, KVK, Brønnøysundregistrene and 400+ more official sources.

02

Publicly listed company financials

Annual reports, interim statements and regulatory disclosures for listed companies — consolidated group accounts alongside entity-level statutory filings, normalised into the same schema as private company data.

03

OCR & AI digitisation

Registries publish financials as PDFs — often scanned, in local languages and local accounting formats. Our pipeline extracts every line item, validates it against the document's own totals, and maps it to one global taxonomy with derived ratios.

04

Original filed documents

For select jurisdictions, the original filing is included alongside the digitised data. Every standardised figure carries its attribution — the registry, the filing, the date — so any number can be audited back to its source in one click.

From registry filing to analytics-ready data.

QA & attribution

Figures validated against the filing's own totals, and every field keeps its source: registry, document, date.

Private and public. One schema.

Statutory accounts, from the registry.

Where the law requires companies to file financial statements, we collect them at the source — and digitise every line item with OCR and AI.

02Profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow where filed, standardised into one global taxonomy with derived ratios.
03Up to 20+ years of history where available — enough to model trends and cycles, not just snapshots.
04Original filed PDF included for select jurisdictions — every figure traceable to the document itself.

Company financial data, answered.

Does Global Database cover both private and publicly listed companies?

Yes. Private company financials come from statutory filings with government registries; listed company financials come from annual reports, interim statements and regulatory disclosures. Both are normalised into one schema, so any two companies are directly comparable.

Where does the financial data come from?

From official filings. Global Database sources data directly from 400+ government registries and regulatory sources across 200+ countries — including Companies House (UK), the Handelsregister (Germany), INPI (France), KVK (Netherlands) and Brønnøysundregistrene (Norway).

How are the financial statements digitised?

Registries publish financials as PDFs — often scanned, in local languages and local accounting formats. An OCR and AI pipeline extracts every line item, validates it against the document's own totals, and maps it to one standardised global taxonomy with derived ratios.

Can I see the original filed document?

For select jurisdictions, yes — the original PDF the company filed with the registry is included alongside the digitised data. Every standardised figure carries field-level attribution: the registry, the filing and the date.

Which financial statements are included?

Profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow where filed, plus derived ratios — margins, liquidity, leverage and efficiency — computed with one consistent methodology across every company.

How much financial history is available?

Up to 20+ years of filings where available, depending on the jurisdiction's filing regime and retention — enough to model trends and cycles rather than single-year snapshots.

What about US private companies?

Most US private companies aren't required to file financial statements. Where filings exist — listed and regulated entities, and foreign subsidiaries of US groups in mandatory-filing jurisdictions — we surface them, labelled by source. We don't substitute estimates for filings.

Are private and public financials comparable?

Yes. Standardisation maps every statement — a German Jahresabschluss, a UK annual account, a listed company's annual report — to one taxonomy, so a private GmbH and a listed PLC can be benchmarked side by side.

How is the data delivered?

Through the API (lookup by name, registration number, VAT, website or LinkedIn URL), bulk data feeds (CSV, JSON, Parquet), the platform, Regis — the AI agent that answers financial questions in plain language — and connectors for Claude and ChatGPT via our MCP server.

Can I redistribute the data or use it for AI training?

Yes — licensing includes redistribution and AI training rights, with flexible terms for embedding financial data in your own products and models.
